ABOUT ME:

My name is Sophia Eykyn and I am an artist from the UK. I have a level 3 extended diploma in art and design and am currently in my final term at Leamington Spa college studying my Fine Art And Contemporary Cultures Degree. My work has evolved over the past few years and I have now specified my work into illustration and design. I like creating colourful patterns and decorative designs I hope to develop and pursue these further. Throughout my degree I have put on exhibitions with fellow students and took part in volunteering for Coventry Biennale Arts Festival and an Escape games project with Market Hall Museum in Warwick. I have also experimented with installation art, photography, and graphic design throughout my time at college.

BODY IMAGE

I looked at the female body in a theme of work I did for my degree, these works all show body image in my illustrative style.

CHILDHOOD MEMORIES

This is an ongoing current project I have been working on for the final term of my degree. Looking at childhood memories, nostalgia from the past and creating this through an illustrative sketchbook.

2nd Year Final Exhibition Piece My work is colourful, vibrant and highly detailed. The creativity within my mind and imagination is what influences my artwork and allows me to just create something in the moment which is really important to me. I am interested in how I can display my work in a space by creating the floating flowers and wallpaper like backdrop. I am making my mark as these symbols are placed in an area of public view. The viewer is welcome to engage with the walls as a backdrop,an explosion of colourful patterns. Stand in front for a photo opportunity!
